SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2007 at 9:10 AM
Chris Kirkpatrick, Natural Resource Coordinator, JoDaviess Conservation
Foundation & University of Illinois Extension Service Consultant
The Conservation Committee has invited Mr. Ritterbusch and
Mr. Kirkpatrick
to make their respective presentations as part of the
Committee's quest for an understanding of how to best manage our
Greenways to preserve the existing natural woods character of most of our
shoreline,
to achieve beneficial filtering to protect our lake contaminants in run-off,
to prevent soil erosion into our lake and at the same time satisfy Property
Owners desires for views of the lake. The committee believes that with
proper management all of these objectives can be compatible.
Mr. Ritterbusch, as a Landscape Environmental Contractor,
will be speaking on October 27th to the different actions that can be
undertaken and
give guidelines as to their respective costs.
Mr. Kirkpatrick, as a Consultant, will be speaking on
November 17th
to what actions should be undertaken and how such actions can be managed to
be fair to all and in the best interests of the A.C.L.P.O.A. as a whole.
Each presentation is expected to include a power point showing and last approximately 45 minutes, to be followed by an approximately 15 minute question and answer session during which Property Owners can ask questions regarding private property as well as Greenway. At the conclusion the Committee will resume its scheduled business.
