Conservation Committee Goals
Apple Canyon Lake community is situated on a 480-acre lake 3 hours west
of Chicago. The lake is approximately 3 miles long with over 15 miles of
shoreline. The lake hosts a wide variety of water sports including skiing,
sailing, boating, tubing and fishing. Families come out on the beaches and
boats all summer long to enjoy nature, picnic and swim.
Water quality is critical for the not only these activities, but also for
the environmental impact on the fish, birds, deer and wildlife. We are
looking to add aerators, fountains, and mixers to increase the oxygen
content in the water to stimulate natural biological growth that will
naturally clean the water, eliminate algae and improve water quality.
The Conservation Committee includes a member of the Board
of Directors and shall advise the Board of Directors on matters relating to
the protection, preservation and improvement of all land and water areas and
all flora and fauna within the Apple Canyon Lake watershed.
